When
I woke up this morning, I felt like a ton of bricks were dropped on me and was
having a hard time focusing. I had very little sleep. At 4:00 in the morning, I finally
gave up and spent the first few hours of the day around the house walking about
like a Neanderthal or a caveman. It felt
like gravity was my worst enemy!

The Welcome Sign to KOSS |
The
pain increased due in part to lack of sleep more due to overdoing it big time
yesterday. My husband and I dropped off
our youngest daughter at camp. Her older sister even came along to bid her
farewell.
The
drive was relatively short, only about an hour, but I was started to cramp up
in the car and pain started shooting up and down my legs before we even got
there. My daughter was so excited to be
going to camp.
She went to the same camp last year and has been talking about
it all year, so I was really glad that she was able to go again this year. Last year, I wasn't doing well enough to take her so she ended up carpooling, so this was the first time I'd seen the camp live and in person. It is a stunningly beautiful area.
The
camp she went to is nestled in the forest near a little stream or river. The camp is the Klamath Outdoor Science School (KOSS)
and is located in the Sun Pass State Forest in Oregon. The focus of this overnight camp is art and
drama. She’ll be getting to create art projects using natural and recycled materials
and do skits and just having a generally great time.

My Daughter Picked Her Bunk Bed |
While
at the camp, we toured the yurts and the camp area and then went for a bit of a
hike around the little river. Such a
pretty area. So the walk after the car
ride was pushing it.
But once we got home, I was still moving so I made the
poor choice to clean up around the house and work on the computer (I really
want to finish out the Ultimate Blog Challenge strong).

The Yurt for Girls To Sleep In |
In
short, I totally overdid things and earned the extra pain. The trip to camp was worth it, but the
cleaning? Totally should have waited for that. Then at about midnight, I
realized that I was really cleaning to keep myself busy because I was missing
my daughter.
She’s ten years old and has gone to camp before, but every time
she’s gone for an extended period of time I miss her.

My Husband and Daughters on a Foot Bridge During Our Walk |
Despite
being in extra pain today, I still managed to create a new Fibromyalgia poster
(the puzzle one), but it took me a lot longer than it would have normally. I had a hard time with my fine motor skills
and focus. My plans for tomorrow are to
take it easy!
So
lots of love to my daughters, especially my baby (the ten year old), can’t wait
for her to be back with all of her perfect camp stories, pictures, and
projects!
Is it silly to be missing her at her age?
Here are some photographs that my husband, oldest daughter and I took of the KOSS camp area and scenery!

I hope that you feel better soon, and that gravity lets up a little bit.
ReplyDeleteThe camp grounds are absolutely stunning!

Beautiful pictures! What a gorgeous place!
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with missing your 10-year old. I miss my 29 and 26 year olds every day. A lot!
My mother suffers from fibromyalgia and she struggles a lot. It's wonderful how positive you sound and how encouraging your outlook is. I hope you feel better.
Wow so Gorgeous! Looks like your daughter is going to enjoy camp very much. I hope you feel better & yes take it EASY! You deserve it!

I'm jealous, your pictures are gorgeous! I love Oregon.
ReplyDeleteI'm always looking for inspiration and consider myself lucky that I can often look out the window (even though I live in a town) and find something beautiful in nature around here.
ReplyDeleteI am totally going to take it easy today. My body is screaming at me, so I better start listening. I think she'll have a wonderful time too. Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteI kind of feel a little silly for missing her, but I really do love her so much. I will probably miss both of my daughters when they move out of the house too.
ReplyDeleteFibromyalgia can be incredibly difficult, so I made a conscious decision to enjoy every moment on a day to day basis as much of possible and to appreciate the many inspirations in my life. It helps keep the positive outlook. I'm human though, I have good days and bad days not just with my body, but with my attitude as well.
Thanks for the kind thoughts.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I was a little surprised by how beautiful it really is at camp.
