Emily, are you serious? You don't count this as a post? This is an incredible piece of work, and it says much more than you could write in 300 words! I can only begin to imagine the life experience included in this "puzzle"... thank you for sharing it. I've worked with people with Fibromyalgia and never, ever saw it like this before!
Emily, this is a fantastic poster & Allison is right, it says way more than words ever could. It's definitely helpful especially for someone like me who's more visual.
And such a true statement.. pain is only 1 piece! Thanks for this. I am sure this poster will make a difference in Fibro Awareness!
As I read this post, today, my morning stiffness was so bad, it took three hours to make my legs move so that I can get out of bed.
I used to get really freaked out when I was stuck in bed for hours, but now I keep a journal nearby so I can write and keep my mind off it, until my body wants to cooperate enough to get moving. I consider it an accomplish every day that I'm able to physically do anything (even if it is sitting at the computer).
You are so kind. I was just worried that an illustration (that took me far longer than it should have to create) wouldn't be enough for the Ulitmate Blog Challenge. But I'm glad you understood the point of it and appreciated it!
I've noticed that many more people are familiar with the concept of Fibromyalgia than they were even five years ago, but everyone just thinks pain, when there really is so much more to it. So my thought was to try to bring the other symptoms more to light as well.
Emily, I work with Feldenkrais(R) practitioners, and I would like to share this with them. Many of them have clients with Fibromyalgia, and I imagine the picture is not this complete for most of them.
Please feel free to share it. It's intended to help with awareness. I appreciate your asking first, but by all means please share. I truly hope it helps someone.
