Half of Day 5 Blogging Olympics - Handball Done!

Day 5 of the Blogging Olympics is to play handball! Well, actually to write a guest post for someone and then hand over the duties for a guest post for your blog.

While I love the idea of having someone else write for my blog, I found the prospect of writing something for someone else to be downright scary.  All of my old insecurities came out to play "What if it's not good enough?" or "What if no-one likes what I write?" or so many negative self-defeating thoughts.

I've been asked to do guest posts for other blogs before, but have honestly been too afraid to actually submit anything.  I would start writing and then rewriting and then start over and never managed to write anything.

I was literally defeating myself with my worries and negativity.  Yes, I know I focus on positivity.  My blog is intended to be a place for positive inspirations.

Let's face it, we're all human and we all have negative emotions at times. I have my moments of insecurity and negativity too, I just try to accept it and switch back to my way of thinking as quickly as possible!

But this time writing a guest post was different, every time I told myself a negative, I countered it with "I CAN do this" and low and behold, I managed to write my first guest post!

Half of the Day 5 Challenge is now done. I wrote a post on simple things being great inspirations. Please check it out over at Behind the Purple Door http://www.lifebehindthepurpledoor.com/2012/08/guest-post-simple-things-in-life-are.html.
