Manic Monday Post: Ultimate Blog Challenge Again, Trying Daily Blog Themes This Month, and Plans for the Week
I'm planning to do a lot this week and this month. I'm looking forward to October and hope that everything goes as planned or ends up better than expected!
Ultimate Blog Challenge October 2012
That’s right everyone! I have committed to doing the Ultimate Blog Challenge again. So 31 posts in 31 days are on the way to you throughout October!
I completed the challenge earlier this year and am looking forward to taking the challenge a second time. I learned a lot from the first challenge and plan to do things a little differently this time. I can’t wait to reconnect with the bloggers I met last time and meet some new bloggers, especially now that I know so much more about blogging in general. I’m really looking forward to the challenge!
Daily Blog Themes
For the month of October, I’m going to focus on some theme days related to the blog, so that you will have an idea on what to expect each day. It will also help keep me in line and on schedule! Hope you enjoy the new Daily Themes.
Simplified Sunday- Illustrated Quote for the Week
On Sundays, I will be posting a quote that I find inspiring and have illustrated myself that will most likely be used in some way throughout the week on my blog. Possibly as inspiration for a post or as an illustration for a post or simply to keep me motivated and positive for the week!
I’m calling it Simplified Sunday, because it is going to be a simplified day for me in terms of the time spent creating and posting for Sunday.
Manic Monday-Week Overview
On Mondays, I plan to post about my plans for the week in general. You know a basic: what’s happening in my personal life, what articles I plan to have show up for the week, and so forth.
Manic Monday is the title for Mondays, because Monday almost always ends up being a little hectic and I plan to do an overview of the week, which may frequently mean that I have a post with a lot of information on several topics in one (which may seem a little manic at times!).
Terrific Fit Tuesday – Articles About Diet or Exercise
Diet and exercise are two topics that many people have difficulty with. The same is true for those of us with Fibromyalgia.
However, those of us with Fibromyalgia and other chronic illnesses may need to adapt the “normal” diet and exercise of most people to meet our unique needs. My intent is to write a post on Tuesdays that addresses something related to diet or exercise.
Wacky Wednesday – Whatever I feel like writing about
Wacky Wednesday is the day that could be on any of the topics or something totally different, just depends on my mood and what catches my attention.
I will most likely participate in one of the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hops at some point too, because I just think those are fun!
Transformation Thursday- Inspirational Story/Photo/Website
On Thursdays, I will write a post about something that inspires me. I’m calling it Transformation Thursday, because my hope would be that someone finds the story inspirational enough to transform their lives or learn something new that will help them in some way or maybe even just remind people to manage their perspectives and keep positive attitudes.
This may be anything inspirational including:
- An inspirational story
- Inspirational photograph that inspires a post
- Something I see, read about, or experience that inspires me
- An inspirational or positive website that inspires
- A guest post by someone else on their inspiration
Fibro Friday – Article about Fibromyalgia
Well, this blog is about my inspirations and Fibromyalgia, so of course, at least one day of the week needs to be dedicated specifically to a post about Fibromyalgia.
Hence, the Fibro Friday name. These articles take me a while because I do so much research for them, but I think they are very helpful for most people and I'm hoping by doing one a week, I will be able to keep up and continue offering great information.
Simply Inspiring Saturday –Simply Inspiring Blog Hop
I have been interested in hosting a Blog Hop for a while now, so this October, I’m going to host a weekly Blog Hop that starts on Saturday and ends on the next Friday.
The Simply Inspiring Saturday Blog Hop goal is for other bloggers to link up a blog post from the week that has something that could inspire others.
I think this will be a lot of fun. Because inspiration can be found anywhere about nearly everything, I think this will be a great way to meet new bloggers with a positive outlook on life, parenting, pets, fashion, or whatever their blog is about!
My Plans for the First Week of October 2012
My plans this week are pretty simple:
1. Meet my Ultimate Blog Challenge for the Week
2. Host my first blog hop
3. Meet some new bloggers and reconnect with some bloggers
4. Do a bunch of fundraising (for my oldest daughter)
5. Hopefully keep the house somewhat decent and maybe even catch up on laundry
The topics for posts this week are most likely going to be as follows:
1. Tuesday – Five Foods that Can Help Fibromyalgia and Why
2. Wednesday – About the Fundraising we’re doing for my daughter and why
3. Thursday – sharing an inspirational website that I really like
4. Friday – article about coping with weather changes with Fibromyalgia
5. Saturday – hosting my second blog hop and marketing it (I started a test run yesterday)
6. Sunday – illustrated quote or poem
Obviously any of these topics could change at any point, but that’s what I have in mind right now. At the moment, I’m feeling pretty tired, fighting bronchitis. Every time I cough it feels like pain is ripping through my entire body. Also seems to be causing my lower back to have more pain, probably due to muscle spasms.
I remember having bronchitis before Fibromyalgia and it was miserable, but this is the first time I have had it since being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and it feels even more horrendous than I remember.
So please wish me well as I continue trying to be as positive as possible even with the extra pain.
Anyway, I'm delighted to have completed the first post for the Ultimate Blog Challenge and am looking forward to the new format I'm trying out this month. I really hope everyone enjoys it!

Hi Emily,
ReplyDeleteNice post. I like how you have your schedule set. I'm looking forward to learning more about fibromyalgia. I also decided to take the 31 day blog challenge and just like you I'm looking forward to connecting with an making some new blogging friends.
Best,
Bart Nash
Sounds like an ambitious and fun plan! I look forward to reading more on your blog.
ReplyDeleteBut -- I am not sure what a blog hop is?
I'm glad you stopped by. The blog challenge is going to be a blast!
ReplyDeleteHopefully, I'll be able to meet my plan! I set it up in way that should be a lot easier for me to do! A blog hop is way for people to meet other bloggers and get more readers and traffic.
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to the Simply Inspiring Blog Hop http://myinspiredlifewithfibromyalgia.blogspot.com/2012/09/simply-inspiring-blog-hop-week-one.html
Basically, someone hosts it and then anyone who wants to participate follows the rules and then links their blog to it.
I love this idea! Graphics are awesome and pretty! Have fun with the challenge! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLook forward to reading!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading your blog each day. Not sure how all the blogging works, but looking forward to reading yours. Something for me to look forward to each day.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the challenge! It looks like you've put a lot of thought into it already.
