What's With The Name Of Your Blog?

Names are actually really important, the power of names and its value has been immortalized in prose, poetry, and more.  Everyone has a name. We attach names to everything around us.

One would think that naming a blog would be really simple, but it’s not.  For me, it was a time consuming and thought provoking task. I wanted my blog name to reflect a positive outlook, my life in general, and Fibromyalgia. I also wanted something that I liked and evoked a good gut feeling for me.

Here are four steps that I used to figure out my new Blog name:

  1. Think of something that describes your blog purpose
  2. Try to make it easy to remember
  3. The domain name of your blog should have the same name in it.  -This means before settling on a name, it’s a good idea to run it through a domain name search to make sure no one else has it already and that you can use it.
  4. Make sure it is a name that you believe you will like for a very long time.
In figuring out my Blog name, I did some brainstorming with my friends and family.  We came up with lots of ideas that were discarded some good, some terrible, and some already used by someone else, including:

Fibro Life of Fog and Despair

The Dummies Guide to Living Happily with Fibromyalgia

Living an Exceptional Fibro Life

Journey through Pain to Inspiration

Living with Fibro

From Fibro Fatigue to Fantastic

Fibromyalgia Guide to Life

And so many more names that I just cannot remember.

The last name I came up with was Inspired Living with Fibromyalgia for my website (still in progress) and my Facebook page.  My Blog is meant to be more personal about my journey with Fibromyalgia so I called it “My Inspired Life with Fibromyalgia.”

Inspired Living with Fibromyalgia is dedicated to inspiring others to live an inspired life, despite facing challenges from chronic health conditions. But what is an Inspired Life?

Well, I define Inspired Living as:

Inspiration Found In Anything
* Living a life filled with passion and fulfillment.

* Waking up each morning excited to start the day and still excited when you go to bed.

* Feeling good in the face adversity and pain.

* Radiating joy from every pore in your body.

* Inspiring others to live a happy fulfilled life

On the flip side, Fibromyalgia may seem a little counterintuitive to being inspired, but I wanted to incorporate that into my blog as it is a challenge in my life that I deal with daily and makes leading an inspired life a challenge at times.

What Fibro can Look Like

Fibromyalgia, also called Fibro or Fibrositis, is a chronic pain condition believed to be a nerve disorder. Fibromyalgia is a widespread debilitating painful condition that is not widely understood.

Hand in hand with Fibromyalgia come other health conditions including Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Depression, Anxiety, Chronic Fatigue, and more.  Not everyone with Fibromyalgia have all of these conditions, most have at least one or more of these along with the Fibromyalgia.

Unfortunately, there is no cure for Fibromyalgia and there is not even a complete understanding of what causes Fibromyalgia.  It’s an illness that has been shunned by the public and medical professions in the past as being a woman’s disease, histrionics, all in people’s heads, and more.

What I Wish Fibro Looked Like!
None of these things commonly believed about Fibromyalgia are true, but it has made getting support for Fibromyalgia Awareness very difficult and has left many people suffering with Fibromyalgia hurt not just by the pain, but also by the indifference and lack of medical understanding.

The journey I’m taking after eleven years of pain is one of acceptance of Fibromyalgia and an unwillingness to let it beat me!  I am still me, not my illness.  I still find inspiration in the world and am pleased to be well enough to share my journey.

  1. Hi Do you know earthclinic.com? It is really helpfull and the tips on there (with long perseverance) have cured people or at least made the fibro really managable. (It is not my site, I know from experience and from people I know, it does work).

  2. I'm familiar with it and have tried many of the remedies. Unfortunately, my Fibromyalgia isn't caused by Fluoride or certain foods, but of course maintaining a good diet helps a bit.
